Medical school is a wild, scary, & incredible journey. I hope that
my stories can serve as a reference (for those considering this path),
as well as a source of celebration & commiseration (for those who
are walking it along side me).
I believe there is plenty to be gained when we openly and honestly share our experiences, especially during such a markedly difficult period of training and transformation. It’s taken a while, but now I realize none of us have to make the trek alone.

The Cost of Applying to Medical School
I wish someone would have told me how much applying to medical school was going to cost. If I had known, I would have started saving on Day 1.

To My Second Grade Class:
Four years ago, my heart broke as I looked into your faces full of fear and frustration and anger. Today, my eyes swell with tears of joy and my heart beats with a new found hope. There is still so much work to do, but at least we can say that we’ve taken a step in the right direction.

Reflecting on my Interview at the University of Rochester
A year ago today I interviewed at the University of Rochester! I remember being so excited. It was my first medical school interview and Rochester was easily my first choice.
